About Us

We are pleased to welcome you to our faith community. We believe that every person that comes into the circle of our fellowship was led here by God. We want to express Christ’s love to you with genuine, heartfelt warmth. You are welcome to visit us in person anytime. We’re eager to know you, and for you to know us.

It will not take you long to discover that we are faith family, rich in relationships that matter most. Growing together, we worship, we serve, we laugh, we cry, we learn and we reach out to the world with life-transforming truth and love. Today, we reach out to you as well. Our doors are open. Our hearts are open, too. If you’ve been thinking, praying, searching and hoping for a place to call home, Peace Community is for you. We are more than a church, we are a family.

Peace Community began in 1975 as a result of the merger of three congregations: St. John’s, St. Joseph’s and St. Jacob’s. We are part of the United Church of Christ. The UCC has its roots in the reformed tradition. While we are a part of the larger denomination, each congregation retains the right to order its life and faith as it discerns to be best.

Most importantly, we are a place of welcome to a diverse group of people. Our facilities are handicapped accessible. In an effort to continue to welcome more people, we recently built a new handicapped restroom which is wheel chair accessible.

Finally, our congregation loves music. St. Augustine once said, “He who sings, prays twice”. Indeed, we pray often. We have a talented organist who shares her gifts with us each Sunday. We also have three choirs: the Senior Choir, Bell Choir and a Dulcimer Group.
